Nurturing Me, Nurturing Us: Postpartum Group

An 8-week “Mommy and Me” group can be a powerful and supportive space for new mothers navigating the challenges of the postpartum period. This curriculum blends therapeutic interventions from various evidence-based modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), with the unique opportunity for mothers to connect with their babies and other new parents. The presence of the babies is not just for convenience; it allows the therapist to observe and intervene in real-time on mother-infant bonding and interaction.

The group is designed to provide a structured, safe, and confidential environment where mothers can share their experiences, learn coping skills, and build a sense of community. Each session includes time for check-ins, a core therapeutic topic, a hands-on activity, and an opportunity for mother-baby bonding.
